HONYA LIGHTING LIMITED PRODUCT WARRANTY
UPDATE Date: July, 2026
HONYA Lighting ("HONYA") warrants that its products are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service when properly installed and operated in accordance with HONYA's published installation instructions.
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser including an authorized HONYA distributor or reseller.
1. Warranty Coverage
Unless otherwise specified on the individual product specification sheet, HONYA products are covered as follows:

Commercial LED Fixtures: 5 Years

Emergency Battery Backup Units: 5 Years (battery subject to normal capacity degradation)

Motion Sensors / Microwave Sensors / PIR Sensors: 5 Years

LED Lamps & Replacement Modules: As specified on the product specification sheet

Accessories: 1 Year unless otherwise stated

Non-LED Products: One (1) year from the date of purchase, unless otherwise specified in writing.
The warranty period begins on the date of:
-
The original purchase date (proof of purchase may be required); or
-
The manufacturing date indicated on the product label, if proof of purchase is unavailable.
Third-Party Components
If HONYA Lighting products incorporate components manufactured by third parties, warranty coverage for those components shall be governed by the warranty policies of their respective manufacturers.
HONYA Lighting does not assume responsibility for the compatibility of third-party components, whether field-installed or factory-installed, with HONYA Lighting products. Customers are responsible for verifying compatibility prior to installation. Any compatibility-related issues shall be resolved directly between the customer and the component manufacturer. HONYA Lighting may assist in identifying the appropriate manufacturer but assumes no liability for such issues.
2. Performance Warranty
During the applicable warranty period, HONYA warrants that:

the fixture housing will remain structurally sound;
-
the LED driver will operate within published specifications;
-
the fixture will perform substantially according to published electrical and photometric specifications;
-
the finish will not crack, peel, or excessively corrode under normal environmental conditions (excluding coastal, chemical, or corrosive environments unless specifically rated).
Natural lumen depreciation is expected over the life of LED products and is not considered a defect.
3. Warranty Eligibility
This warranty applies only when:
-
the product was purchased from HONYA or an authorized distributor;
-
the product has been installed according to all applicable electrical codes;
-
installation was performed by a qualified electrician or under qualified supervision;
-
the product has not been modified or repaired by unauthorized persons;
-
the product is operated within its published electrical ratings and environmental limits.
HONYA Lighting reserves the right to examine all failed products and shall be the sole judge in determining whether a product is defective and covered under this warranty. Any repaired or replacement product shall be warranted only for the remainder of the original warranty period, as determined by the product date code and/or valid proof of purchase from an authorized HONYA Lighting distributor or dealer.
4. What HONYA Will Do
If HONYA determines that a product is defective under this warranty, HONYA may, at its sole discretion:
-
repair the product;
-
replace the product with the same or equivalent product; If the original product is no longer available, HONYA Lighting reserves the right to provide a comparable product of equal or greater performance and value.

provide replacement components;
-
issue a credit equal to the original purchase price.
Replacement products may be new, refurbished, or functionally equivalent if the original model has been discontinued.
Replacement products do not extend the original warranty period.
5. Limitations of Warranty Coverage
This Limited Warranty does not apply to product failures, damage, or defects resulting from any of the following:
-
Improper Installation or Operation: Improper installation, wiring, maintenance, or use; failure to follow HONYA Lighting installation instructions; incorrect voltage or frequency; operation outside the product's rated electrical or environmental specifications; or applications exceeding the product's rated operating cycle. LED tubes installed in sealed or vapor-tight fixtures are excluded unless specifically approved by HONYA Lighting.

Electrical Disturbance: Power surges, lightning, high-speed transients, or other abnormal electrical conditions.
-
Misuse or Damage: Misuse, abuse, negligence, vandalism, accidents, physical damage, or improper maintenance.

Environmental Conditions: Exposure to chemicals, salt spray, corrosive or marine environments (unless specifically rated), excessive heat or moisture, fire, flood, hurricanes, earthquakes, or other Acts of God.

LED Performance: LED warranty claims apply only when the product fails electrically due to a manufacturing defect and more than ten percent (10%) of the LEDs fail to illuminate.

Cosmetic Conditions: Minor cosmetic issues, including fading, discoloration, scratches, finish deterioration, surface corrosion, normal LED color shift, or normal lumen depreciation that do not affect performance, are not covered.

Batteries: Normal capacity loss or aging of emergency batteries and rechargeable batteries is not covered.

Accessories: Occupancy sensors, external photocells, emergency battery backup devices, and other accessories are covered only under their applicable component warranty unless otherwise stated.

Unauthorized Modifications: This Limited Warranty does not cover products that have been altered, modified, repaired, or disassembled without prior written approval from HONYA Lighting. Unauthorized modifications or repairs will void this warranty.
6. Labor Costs
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, this warranty covers the product only.
Removal, installation, labor, equipment rental, lift rental, travel expenses, shipping charges, and other incidental costs are not covered.
For approved commercial projects, HONYA may, at its sole discretion, provide labor reimbursement if pre-approved in writing before any work is performed.
7. Warranty Claims
To submit a warranty claim, please provide:
-
proof of purchase;
-
product model number;
-
date code or serial number (if applicable);
-
installation date;
-
installation location;
-
photographs of the product and failure;
-
description of the issue.
HONYA may request return of the defective product for inspection.
Returned products must receive a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) before shipment. Products returned without an RMA may be refused.
8. Limitations of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
HONYA's total liability shall not exceed the original purchase price of the defective product.
HONYA shall not be liable for: labor costs; lost profits; project delays; loss of use; business interruption; consequential damages; incidental damages; indirect damages; special damages.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so portions of this section may not apply.
9. Disclaimer
Except for the limited warranty stated herein, HONYA makes no other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
No employee, distributor, dealer, or representative is authorized to modify this warranty without written approval from HONYA Lighting.
10. Governing Law
This warranty shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles.
